Flames of Love
by Melissa Foster
Book 3 of The Remingtons Series

4 stars

I have only read one other book in this series, Game of Love , and I must say I liked FLAMES OF LOVE much better. I liked Sienna already in that book and I liked here even more now. Cash was really wonderful! He got that brooding, alpha male quality that exudes a strength any girl will swoon over. It was great to read the rapport among Sienna’s family too, seeing as this is also The Remingtons series. I may not have read Sage & Kate’s story, but the brief mentions of how they met and how they are now already gave me an idea how they are as a couple. The same goes for Jack and Savannah.

There are many things to love about this book, so here’s a rundown:

From the cover alone, you just know that this will be an HEA. Which is perfect if you’re looking for a light read that can make you squeal, curl your toes, smile, and just feel so good afterwards.

Just enough time was spent for Sienna and Cash to dance around each other and test the crackling electricity around them. It didn't feel quick even if it was only days actually from their first meeting! The way Melissa Foster wrote it, it kind of made sense that they will get together when they did. The chemistry just leaps off the pages, honestly! It certainly didn't feel drawn out though, which is great because it seems to happen in most other romance books.

The fact that Cash is a firefighter =D hahaha, it’s what drew me to this story the most, to be honest. In the last firefighter romance I read the lead guy was more like a secondary character, so this story satisfied my disappointment with that one.

The romance is front and center in this story. The conflicts the characters faced simply made their relationship stronger and all the more sweeter at the end.

There was a strong and immediate chemistry between Sienna and Cash! In some books the chemistry between the main couple builds gradually up. With these two, there was an immediate connection between them and with me as the reader. They met under unusual circumstances and that scene was actually very short, but Melissa Foster did great in creating sparks out of those fleeting, stolen looks. That scene actually reminded me of Frozen! When Anna first meets Kristoff she only saw his eyes. Then he leaned close and towered over her... admit it, you immediately thought something could happen between them! That’s exactly what I thought with Sienna and Cash!

It became easy to see the direction the story will take as soon as we’re given a peek at Sienna’s work environment. It was immediately clear to me that it could be a problem later on in the story. Sienna is a very famous, very successful ramp and ad model. In the words of her agent, “Image is everything”. Dating a troubled firefighter, no matter how hot and handsome, wouldn't be the ideal thing now, would it?

Cash is hands down the most patient, understanding and honest hero I've ever read. From start to finish, these qualities didn't wane! This is what made FLAMES OF LOVE different and very, very refreshing. There's none of that "misunderstanding" plot that complicates things and creates completely avoidable angst. Cash an Sienna established early on that they are going to be very honest and open about everything, and I love, love, love that about them. :)

I’d gladly recommend FLAMES OF LOVE to anyone who’s looking for a light romance that nevertheless has depth and isn't too cheesy. I read my review copy in the evenings after work, when I’m already so tired and wanted to chill. It didn't fail to make me feel lighter and smile before I went to sleep. :)

Synopsis:

As one of New York’s Finest, firefighter Cash Ryder is always prepared. When a woman’s car skids off the side of a mountain during a snowstorm, he’s there to rescue her. Cash is totally focused on the woman’s well-being, but within minutes of getting her to safety, he realizes that he’s nowhere near prepared for the heat that rolls off of sensual, smart-mouthed, and stubborn Siena Remington.

As a model, Siena Remington has dated some of the wealthiest, most handsome men in the industry, and she’s made peace with the idea that most men are just looking for eye candy and they wouldn’t know how to romance a woman to save their lives. When she’s rescued by a tall, handsome stranger, she thinks that maybe, just maybe, she’s found her own real-life romantic fairy tale—until he opens his mouth and everything that comes out is gruff, ornery, and aggravatingly sexy.

Thrown together during an annual firehouse calendar photo shoot, the passion between Cash and Siena sizzles, and neither one knows how to control the flames. After an evening of verbal sparring followed by a sinfully sensual night, their darkest secrets are revealed—and so is Cash’s warm, romantic heart. But Siena’s secret might be too much for big, strong, always-prepared Cash to handle—and Siena is forced to choose between a man who’s everything she’s ever dreamed of and an opportunity of a lifetime.
