I honestly thought that Tangled was already a finished story, that Drew and Kate got their HEA and that's it. The end. I'm really pleased that Emma Chase still had something more up her sleeve where these two are concerned!

Did you think Drew and I were going to ride off into the sunset? Live happily ever after? Join the club. Apparently happily ever after only lasts two years.

TWISTED is the story after the happily-ever-after. We're all used to the HEA being the absolute end of a story. In this sequel though, Emm Chase shows us how perfect love story like Kate and Drew's can also go to the dumps. It seems like a sad story now, doesn't it? Don't worry though. Just think that after the rain there is always a clear sky and even a rainbow to mark the end of the storm and the beginning of a better day. =D Okay, now I'm getting cheesy, hahaha!

That is honestly what I felt while reading this book. Of course, as they were going through tough times I also felt sad and quite worried about what will happen in the succeeding chapters. On the other hand, the first book had established how solid their relationship is, and how much they love each other. That's why I also remained confident that they will be able to get past their troubles and emerge stronger than ever.

I won't tell you what the trouble is about, but when you read it... oh my gosh... *facepalm*

So! =D What I love the most about TWISTED is that the elements I loved in Tangled are still preserved here. Sure, this has lots of angst, but that's the beauty of Emma Chase's writing: there were still a lot of things to laugh about! Drew is still incredibly funny and sexy, though still being such a guy sometimes *facepalm*. Kate was a surprise for me! I knew her as this smart, simple and witty woman who won't take crap from Drew. I knew she could be funny, but she's even funnier in this book now that it is narrated in her voice. Fans of the first book will also learn that there is so much more to her than what was originally shown in Tangled. The very first page held a major OMG moment! Readers will know more about her past, her thoughts, dreams, feelings, everything.

I really loved that the last chapter reverted back to Drew's POV, though. It wasn't until I read with his voice in my head that it really sunk in how much I missed him! =) It couldn't have ended much better than that, in my opinion.

Emma Chase really outdid herself with this one! She's really excellent at mixing funny and sexy without losing touch of the story. She's also very good at writing characters with sizzling chemistry. Drew & Kate didn't lose their chemistry, and I loved every single moment of them together on the page!

The secondary characters were all still lovely and funny. There was one surprise pairing which you probably know about already if you read HOLY FRIGGING MATRIMONY. Steven and the b-- oh sorry, Alexandra (haha, love her!) are still a riot act. Matthew is pussy whipped (I think even literally!) by Dee. I love the parents, and even Douche Bag (Billy Warren, the ex) redeemed himself. Yep, no kidding. He's not so bad, really. Now you really have to read the book and find out why!

I truly, truly enjoyed TWISTED, issues and troubles aside. It has a solid story that really strengthened the chemistry and magnetism of the two main characters. If anyone thought there were still lose ends in the first book, I think this one tied them all up. I'm glad Emma Chase followed up the first book with this one because at the end of this book, there is no doubt in my mind that Drew & Kate will be together forever!
