It was my privilege to be included in the spotlight tour for this series! I haven't read them yet prior to this tour, but these books have already been in my radar because of the high reviews and the many times they have been recommended by previous readers. Naturally, I dived into the first book and got a taste of what other readers have been raving about!

by K.I. Lynn
Book 1 of Breach Series
Delilah Palmer has always maintained control of her life and outward personality, blocking the truth that's just below the surface. Using a façade meant to be normal and hide the scars of her childhood, she's made a good life for herself. Becoming a successful lawyer, she is finally free from the tortured past that haunts her daily. Until he comes along and breaks open the cracks.
Nathan Thorne has a haunted past of his own. On the surface, he is personable, extroverted, and loved by everyone; everything Delilah isn't. However, hidden beneath his charming smile is a dark and tormented man that only Delilah has the power to unveil.
Forced into a small office together, they begin to see through each other's masks, and the magnetic attraction ignites an explosive relationship. Their firm, Holloway and Holloway Law, has a strict non-fraternization policy, forcing them to conceal their breach. But despite their efforts, separation becomes impossible, deceptions escalate, and Nathan begins to teeter on the edge of being overtaken by his past demons.
What dark secrets does Nathan harbor that stop him from giving in, and what is it that keeps him from healing and moving forward? And more importantly, where does Delilah fit into his turmoil? Will they be able to accept love and deal with all the trials that develop as their secrets are exposed, or will they fall through the cracks of their pasts and be consumed by all that haunts them?
An exciting new romance, Breach will hook readers from the very beginning. With smoldering romance and captivating erotica, this enthralling story is perfect for all. Using shrouded secrets of the past and a combustible relationship that borders on taboo, this thrilling novel ramps up the tension and romance at every turn.

I'm giving BREACH 4.5 stars because it really lived up to the hype that this series is a "must read after Fifty Shades". If you loved Fifty, I think you'll enjoy the first book in this series just as much. They have many similarities: There's a sexy, hot, wealthy hero who is unfortunately closed-off from the world and even from the heroine (at the beginning, at least). They have a taboo relationship, although it doesn't cross the BDSM genre. The hero is very dominant in the bedroom department though. And speaking of bedroom department, there are lots of it. As in, lots and lots of it!
I like reading romances that form in the workplace because they usually end up sweet, utterly romantic, and sometimes forbidden and steamy. BREACH falls in the last category. Delilah, or Lila for short, is introduced at the beginning of the story to her new office mate: Nathan. They work on polishing and double-checking contracts for their law firm. This means spending hours and hours everyday cooped up together in one room, poring over contracts and getting into each other's nerves.
The friction between Lila and Nathan is so grating, they are openly hostile to each other at the beginning. Readers, though, will get what all that antagonism really means: attraction. Both are fighting off their attraction to each other, and it's not just because of the non-fraternization policy. Both have traumatic pasts that made them rather weary and downright leery of relationships. What those reasons and histories are, you'll have to find out for yourself.
As I already said, things heat up between Lila and Nathan both in and outside the office. Nathan is probably the dirtiest dirty-talking male I've ever read! I'm not so into his brand of dirty-talking, and that's really up to the reader. The scenes are definitely smokin' though!
What really gets the story going is the obvious need for these two to face their pasts, because unfortunately, their pasts are not done with them yet. The heartache, pain and trauma they went through years before are affecting their present capability--or incapability--of moving forward. Of opening their hearts to someone else again. So as you move on to the last quarter of BREACH, expect lots of emotional scenes. I won't be surprised if you'll be frustrated as well because they, Nathan especially, really needed to go through a new kind of hell in order to move forward.

For DISSOLUTION, it was nice to finally have a peek at Nathan's mind since the first book is narrated through Lila's POV. There are certain things Nathan is fond of doing, and since I wanted to smack him hard whenever he did some of those things, it was only right to also hear his side of the story.
I already knew he deserved the cliche, "damaged", since book 1, but I didn't know just how much he was really suffering until I read this novella. But first up, I'm really glad that K.I. Lynn chose to write his POV this way. It may be very short, but it's enough to find out what made Nathan behave the way he did. It was enough to wrench my heart out and understand this man much better. When a good and loving man hurts, he hurts to the Nth level! Even with Lila in his life now, a part of me will always feel very sad for his earlier losses.
With DISSOLUTION. Ms. Lynn did a great job in letting readers get into Nathan's heart and mind in the last three chapters of the previous book. Those chapters were very crucial to the progress of his relationship with Lila. I'll tell you now, he was a douche. So if you feel extremely disappointed and mad at Nathan when you're done with BREACH, read this novella. It'll change your mind about a lot of things.

INFRACTION starts several hours after the final scene in book 1. Now, one of the most notable thing about this book is that it's the polar opposite of BREACH: it has way fewer sex scenes. Those who are overwhelmed with the smexin' in the first book can breathe a sigh of relief in book 2. Those who loved book 1 for the smexin', you'll have to wait a bit longer before you'll hear Nathan dirty-talk again.
There is a very good reason for this though. As mentioned in the synopsis, Nathan and Lila are now on a journey towards healing. They did it the right way too. They sought professional help, enlisted and welcomed the support of their families and closest friends, learned to communicate, be honest and open up to one another, and put the sexual aspect of their relationship in the backseat for the meantime.
Normally I'd be drifting through counseling scenes in books, but I was really interested with how Dr. Morgenson helped them slowly patch up their shattered hearts and souls. K.I. Lynn did just the right amount of glossing over and getting into details, in my opinion. Whenever she got into details and really added dialogue between Nathan, Lila and Dr. Morgenson, I'd read them attentively. For me, those scenes made the transitions from "I'm not sure what we are," to "I love you, but I need to learn to trust you," to "We're in it for the long haul," proceed very smoothly. Kudos to Ms. Lynn!
INFRACTION ends as a happy-for-now. Readers will know what troubles await Nathan and Lila in the third book. What they'll be facing is much, much bigger than a non-fraternization policy. With everything they went through though, I can say that Lila is much braver and stronger, and Nathan is more driven to clean up the demons of his past once and for all.
Book 3, RECIPROCITY, is bound to be an exciting read! Can't wait to find out what happens next...! I'm a bit scared too, to be honest *giggles* K.I. Lynn has done a wonderful job with the first two books and the novella, though, and if that's any indication, this series will surely end with a bang!

BREACH Excerpt (Warning: explicit content):
Hands.
They were punishing. He grabbed my waist with a feral grip, pulling me to him hard while he thrust into me even harder. The way we both needed it.
There would be bruises in the morning from where his hands found purchase, but I didn’t mind.
The day was the same as the one before as he took from my body, my heart, my soul. In return he gave himself to me the only way he knew how: with bruising hands, passionate kisses, and hard thrusts.
His body was sin, his cock was sin, and I was a sinner.
His hands moved up my thighs, his long, slender fingers playing my body, bending me to his will. They were a delicious torture, just as much as his words.
His lips sucked at my neck, teeth digging in, making my eyes roll back; another mark.
I grinned. He loved marking me, and I loved hiding them from people. They were proof, a reminder of his need, his pleasure.
My tongue ran up the column of his neck before I found the perfect location to mark him as well. The spot I choose, just below his ear, would make it visible, unable to be hidden by the collar of his dress shirt.
It would make his admirers mad with wonder when they came around to bug him the next day. I smiled at the thought of them finding out he was breaking the rules every day with me, and not them.
Hollywood had nothing on us. Awards could be given for the lies we told, and the feelings we hid under a mask of hate and indifference.
He pulled my hair, bringing my focus back to him. His teeth scraped my neck. No doubt leaving small pink trails on my skin. He growled. “You’re not paying attention to my cock, Lila.”
A shiver ran down my spine and my muscles clenched around him, eliciting a rumble deep in his chest. He thrust hard, using long strokes, causing me to scream out in response.
He picked up the pace. “That’s it, baby. That’s what I like to hear.” He was pushing me to the edge again. “Scream for me. I want everyone to hear what I do to you.”
My mind was fuzzy, lost in a sea of lust. I obeyed and let go, no longer holding back. My screams echoed around the room, and that trademark smirk of his formed on his perfect features.
His mouth moved down to my breasts where he began licking and nipping. The combination of sensations from his body’s assault was too much. His name spilled from my lips on a scream as my back arched off the bed. My hands grabbed his arms; nails digging in as my walls constricted around him.
“Fuck, you feel so damn good when you come around my cock.”
I was too far gone to respond, my body going lax after my orgasm. He was still going. Both hands were back on my hips as he drove into me. His stamina was unparalleled. How many times in the past had I been forced to come multiple times before he spilled inside me?
“God, I’m close,” he grunted before pulling out.
I whimpered at the loss, but knew what he was doing. What he wanted from me.
I managed to turn my body around, coming face to face with his cock and took him into my eager mouth. I lapped up my juices from him as my tongue swirled around his length. His eyes were on me, watching his cock disappear between my lips. He loved to watch me suck him after being buried in my pussy. I sucked hard, punishing him as he had me. I was rewarded with a hiss and a flex of his hips. My teeth grazed his skin. He moaned deep in his chest, his panting gaining speed, muscles tensing.
His hands wrapped up in my hair just as he began to thrust, fucking my mouth. He was grunting and moaning as he hit the back of my throat. I reached up to massage his balls, adding to the sensations.
“Fuck!” he cried out. His hips flexed forward before jerking. He came hard; spurt after spurt, sliding into my mouth and down my throat.
After licking him clean, I released him from my mouth. I smiled up at him and he leaned down to kiss me. The kiss was passionate, as were all his kisses. It was also harsh; his teeth biting on my lip, scraping it, tasting himself.
He got a rag to clean me up before we laid down and curled into one another. Tomorrow was closing in. Another day of wearing masks and hiding what we wanted, what we were, from the world. Another day of denying each other. Another night of punishment to look forward to.
Why was he punishing me? Because I called to him, and I let him do whatever he wanted to me. Punishing himself for wanting me and doing whatever he desired to me.
Punishing us for our breach.
INFRACTION Excerpt:
My eyes began to open, fighting against the glue that seemed to be keeping them shut. The morning light seeped through the windows. My hand twitched, and I felt something between my fingers. I looked down to find Nathan’s familiar hair beneath my palm. His head was lying on his arm, his other hand draped on my stomach. He was asleep.
I’d been dreaming.
I studied him. There were dark circles under his eyes, and his face was gaunt. He seemed thinner, too. I hadn’t noticed how terrible he looked because I refused to really take a good look at him. I didn’t want to.
The dream resurfaced, and in my mind I remembered how good, how healthy, he looked. I also remembered the family we had. I had dreamed of him, dreamed of us, and what we could be.
My walls were cracking. I wanted it. I wanted it so badly. I wanted him.
My fingers combed through his hair, and I wondered if I’d been doing that in my sleep? Had I known he was there and reached out to him?
It wouldn’t surprise me. I never could deny the draw I had to him. The more I thought about letting him in, the more my chest constricted, my breathing more labored.
It would be up to him. If he wanted me as much as he claimed, he would have to show me.
Everything.
Nothing less would allow me to open back up to him. No more hiding. He would have to let it all out before I even considered.
He stirred and my fingers stilled. His eyes opened, and I stared down at him. They closed again, and his head pushed up into my hand as he let out a sigh of contentment.
“Hi,” he croaked. I didn’t respond. I was muted as his blue eyes gazed up at me in reverence. “How are you feeling?” His hand rose from my stomach and moved a strand of hair from my face.
“You really want an answer to that?” Just because he brought me food and movies, did not mean everything was wonderful.
“That bad, huh?”
I shrugged as best I could. “Broken heart, broken body, and broken soul. Not sure I can get more broken than that.”
He cringed against my words. “I’m going to work on fixing all those things.”
“You have a plan for that?”
“It’s formulating. Slowly, but it’s coming.”
I quirked my brow at him. “Are you sure about that?”
“It’s a twelve-step program.”
My lips twitched. “Really? What’s step number one?”
“Admitting I’m in love with you…to you and myself.”

K.I. Lynn spent her life in the arts, everything from music to painting and ceramics, then to writing. Characters have always run around in her head, acting out their stories, but it wasn’t until later in life she would put them to pen. It would turn out to be the one thing she was really passionate about.
Since she began posting stories online, she’s garnered acclaim for her diverse stories and hard hitting writing style. Two stories and characters are never the same, her brain moving through different ideas faster than she can write them down as it also plots its quest for world domination…or cheese. Whichever is easier to obtain… Usually it’s cheese.
