Book 2 of the Renegade Sons MC

5 Amazing Stars!

The Rnegade Sons MC is really shaping up to be an excellent MC series! RENEGADE REJECT is the second book in this exciting, sexy, emotional, gritty, and eye-opening series by Dawn Martens and Emily Minton. I've read the first book, Renegade Lady, and I was blown away by its grittiness and toughness. One thing I loved about that book was that it really did feel genuine. It showed how biker club members behave. Reading that book actually felt like a culture immersion. Just when I thought I already knew all there is to know about MCs because of Renegade Lady, these talented authors still surprised me and raised the bar higher for the next books in this series!

RENEGADE REJECT is the story of Preach and Daisy. I recommend reading book 1 first because although this is a standalone, I think readers will all the more appreciate and feel the conflicts and resolutions that happen in this book. You'll know exactly what stupid, asshole-y things Preach did. I honestly wondered at how Daisy will forgive this guy! I remember writing in my review for Renegade Lady that the authors will have their work cut out making Preach redeemable to the readers!

This is not to scare you off the character completely. Preach is truly a biker. He is protective, fierce, extremely loyal to his club, and is extremely susceptible to casual hookups and alcohol, among other things. His flaws don't make him an anti-hero, but they definitely didn't make me love him more quickly.

As stated in the synopsis, Daisy lived in the fringes of the club. All her family is part of it, her parents and grandparents. This is why she knows what goes on within the club and what its members are up to. This is also the reason why she doesn't want in. The life of danger and constant temptation to cheat on spouses and partners turned her off the club. Fortunately for her, the Renegade Sons are still fond and protective of her.

When these two first met, Daisy was still 17 and therefore can't be claimed yet. It was already clear to everyone though, both of them included, that Preach will be the one to make her an old lady. Unfortunately, fate just had to make things difficult for them first before they could achieve love and happiness together. A lot of things had to happen first. I have to warn you, these two will go through a lot of heartache that will make you feel sad and angry at the same time!

The timeline for RENEGADE REJECT is quite long. It begins before the events in book 1 and ends way after. So, it was fun to see the romantic conflict between Ice and Kidd from a third-party POV. It was also awesome to find out how they are after their book. Normally I don't really end up liking books with very long timelines because they tend to narrate a lot of things and gloss over them (lack of page space, I know) instead of really bringing the readers into the scene. With this one though, the authors did simply narrate scenes but they also wrote out the most crucial scenes and turning points in the story, including the ones already shown in book 1.

All in all, I think the writing was what made me give RENEGADE REJECT a higher rating than its predecessor. I don't like saying this because it makes me feel like a snob LOL but I really do think Emily Minton & Dawn Martens are getting so much better at writing this series! I soooo look forward to the stories of the other supporting characters! Timber is up next! When I found out who his woman will be, it made me laugh. All hell will break lose, wahahahah!

If you love gritty biker stories that feel genuine; if you like your heroines tough and the women like Gemma in Sons of Anarchy (kind of fearless, I mean, not heartless killers… well, most of the time… oh, you'll know what I mean! LOL); and if you love Sons of Anarchy in general, then you really have to check out this series!

Synopsis:

Daisy “Little Flower” Anderson has lived her entire life on the sidelines of the Renegade Sons MC. Her father is a member, and her mother a club whore turned old lady. Not wanting to follow their footsteps, she chose a different path; one that keeps her close to the biker family she loves, but out of the club.

Struggling to keep it together, she never thought she would have anything of her own, until she met Preach. He is everything she swore she didn't want in life. One night of passion leads to unexpected consequences, and she knows, now more than ever, it’s time to move forward.

Garrett “Preach” Austin lived his life caught in his father’s iron fist. He never thought he would want anything more than freedom from his past, until he met his “Little Flower”. She shows him there is more to life than pain.

Preach has a secret; one that forces him to choose between Daisy and his brothers. Even though he loves Daisy, the Renegade Sons are the only true family he has. He knows he can’t have her, yet he can’t let her go.

When Daisy moves on, Preach realizes what he’s lost. Can he prove that he’s the man for her, or is he too late?
