Worth Forgiving
by Vi Keeland
Book 3 of the MMA Figher Series

4.5 stars

Once again, Vi Keeland demonstrates her skill as a romance writer in WORTH FORGIVING. I just love her writing! This one is a perfect blend of sweet, romantic and sexy, thanks in large part to a hero that possesses all three qualities.

This book has the elements that I really enjoy in contemporary romances. One, sexual tension: check! Standing a hair's breath away from each other, the hero caging the heroine in his arms and a handful other similarly toe-curling scenes—classic! Two, chemistry: oh definitely check! Three, dirty talking: okay to be honest this isn't really a requirement, but what woman wouldn't say no to a suave dirty talker?? :p Well let me tell you ladies, Jackson is just the right kind of dirty talker that will make you swoon. He's not over the top, he doesn't call Lily "slut" or something (which I really, really dislike in sex scenes… that's just not remotely sexy to me). As mentioned in the synopsis, he's the quintessential "gentleman", but he's also a "caveman in the bedroom".

Jax is my favorite MMA Fghter series hero to date. He is handsome, sexy, smart (he's a successful businessman whose company deals with financing), strong (he fights at the gym during off days, even before knowing he had a stepbrother who's also an MMA fighter. If you've read book 2, his step-brother is Vince), romantic, sexy talker (have to say that again! LOL), protective, and just the right kind of intense that makes a woman feel that he's really here to stay. Lucky Lily!

Speaking of Lily, she's likable for the majority of the book. She's nice, tries to do the right thing by everyone (even to her jerk of an ex, Caden), she allows herself to open up to Jax and acknowledge the attraction between them. She's also a dedicated co-owner of Ralley's, the chain of gyms that was started by her father and his partner Joe, who has also been kind of a father figure since her dad's untimely death.

I was just immensely annoyed with Lily near the end when she refused to see sense where Jax's actions were concerned. He arrived at Ralley's at the beginning purely because of business reasons. It also made sense that he did not inform Lily of his original reasons for being there because their relationship would definitely cloud her's and Joe's judgments with regards to business. Lily just couldn't see that!

If I could only speak to book heroines directly, one thing I'd definitely tell them is this: If a nasty ex who doesn't want you to be happy with a new guy tells you something bad about said new guy, always always take it with a grain of salt! You'll avoid at least a week's worth of heartache if you keep that in mind!

So so so so… WORTH FORGIVING as a whole is a very enjoyable read. The interactions between Jax and Lily were titillating, and many of them are also very funny. I really liked how they would eat off each other's plates. It's "their thing", know what I mean. I also loved the development of Jax and Vince's relationship. Brought up in opposite environments, they still ended up with similar interests and personalities. Their banter at the epilogue really made me smile.

And speaking of epilogues…! I loved it. It shows readers what's up with Lily and Jax six years later. We're also told a little about Vince and Nico (from book 1). I just wish it also mentioned Liv and Elle, their lady loves.

I recommend not just WORTH FORGIVING but this entire series to any fan of contemporary romance. They're easy to read in one sitting. If you want steamy, these books have it. If you want some angst, you'll get that as well. Likeable characters, couples with potent chemistry, and you won't run short of romance.

Synopsis:

They say men like a lady in the living room and a whore in the bedroom. I never knew the sentiment was reciprocal. Until I met Jax Knight. A gentleman in public, a commanding, dirty talking rogue in the bedroom.

Daughter of legendary fighter "The Saint," Lily St. Claire knows firsthand how fighters can be. As the owner of a chain of MMA gyms, she's no stranger to aggressive, dominating, and possessive men. That's why she's always kept her distance. But the day Jax Knight walks through her door she's captivated by his charm. Stunningly handsome, well mannered, Ivy League educated, and confident, he shatters all the preconceived notions she'd come to think were true about men who trained to fight.

But falling for someone so soon after her breakup wasn't something she'd planned on. And definitely not something her ex plans to allow.

Vi Keeland is a native New Yorker with three children that occupy most of her free time, which she complains about often, but wouldn't change for the world. She is a bookworm and has been known to read her kindle at stop lights, while styling her hair, cleaning, walking, during sporting events, and frequently while pretending to work.  She is a boring attorney by day, and an exciting smut author by night!
